Slaw-Topped BBQ Fish Burgers with Jalapeño-Lime Aioli

Looking for a twist on your backyard burgers? Start by swapping beef for convenient frozen Canadian fish or shrimp patties and spruce them up in minutes with a quick pre-bagged slaw and a 2-minute sauce that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 4 frozen Canadian fish burger patties
  • 4 brioche burger buns, split
  • 1 large lime
  • 2 cups (400 g) coleslaw mix
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (5 g) Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup (60 g) mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) minced jalapeño
  • 1 small clove garlic, grated or pressed
  • 1 tbsp (6 g) finely chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
  • Salt and pepper

Steps

For the Slaw

  1. Zest and juice lime. In a bowl, toss together coleslaw mix, oil, mustard, salt, pepper and lime zest and juice until well mixed; let stand 10 minutes.

For the Aioli

  1. In another small bowl, combine mayo, jalapeño, garlic and cilantro.

To Assemble

  1. On a pre-heated grill (high heat), cook burgers according to package directions, adding buns to the grill to toast in the last 1 minute of cooking.

  2. Fill buns with fish burgers, aioli and slaw. Enjoy!
